Today, I will discuss how to “sell” your idea to an Influencer. Wether you are trying to convince your kid to eat vegetable or selling a contract to a potential customer, this will be very useful to know if you are facing this personality type.

HOW TO SELL TO AN INFLUENCER
Here is what you should focus on when you sell to an Influencer: Reinforce their opinion and welcome their ideas and thoughts into the conversation. Allow the conversation to flow. Listen for key words that tell you what the Influencer values and incorporate this language into the conversation; “I hear that you like to…”, which is amazing because…” sorts of statements.
Avoid arguments, work out the specifics, discuss stimulating ideas. Give them optional buying choices (but limit to two or three at the most). Recognize what they will bring to the sale or the sales experience. “I love speaking with you because you have a way with…”
Be less time disciplined but move at a steady pace, develop clear pictures, settle final details, use stories to motivate, and ask for their own personal opinions
In order to bring an Influencer to a decision: Allow them to express their personal opinion and follow their gut. Cite prominent people, provide endorsements, focus on the big picture, give incentives and recognition for meeting project deadlines.

Here are some things you might say to an Influencer as you are selling them an online course.

CONVINCE AN INFLUENCER TO GO TO A MOVIE:
Here is how you can confince an Influencer to see a movie with you, on the night that you prefer.
You: “Everybody is going to see Star Wars on Tuesday for the opening night.”
Influencer: “Then we should go too!”
That is probably enough. With the Influencer, a mention that everybody else is doing something is enough for them to be in. Let’s continue the example in case they had another movie in mind.
You: “Everybody is going to see Star Wars on Tuesday for the opening night.”
Influencer: “Oh no, I wanted to see the latest superhero movie.”
You: “Yes, that movie sounds great too! I wonder which one everybody will be talking about on Wednesday morning. The superhero movie didn’t have really good reviews. But the Star Wars movie promises to be epic!”
Influencer: “Well, maybe we want to see that one then.”
You: “We could always do a double, see Star Wars at six thirty-five, then you can see the other one right after at nine?”
Influencer: “Yes, that sounds perfect!”
