People with chronic illness, living in society, are living their lives not only with the challenge of their own condition, but also dealing with the way they are excluded from a normal social life. They are ignored most of times or acknowledged by people with a weird look on their face. ”There isn’t such thing as a norm” says Sita Sahasrabudhe at her TEDxStanleyPark talk. She is a Registered Social Worker with epilepsy who knows first hand about the challenges that people with chronic illnesses face every day. In her TEDx Talk, she asks that you confront the issue. If you see someone isolating themselves, reach out to them. Show them that you care. Talk to them. Look at them with compassion as if they were a member of your family or your best friend.
