We tend to get confused as to our definitions of humility. Humility is not to think less of yourself. It is to think about yourself less. Bein
g humble is an art that I am aiming to master one day. For some people, they chose to believe that being humble means to discredit themselves and to be a follower, without ever having an opinion, nor being sur
e of anything. There is also a fine line between being self confident and being “cocky”. There is nothing wrong with being confident, sure and certain of ourselves. Believing in our potential is definitively a plus in this society where self-doubt is present everywhere. So how do we cross the line or not? It is in the meaning of communication of this self-confidence that we separate both. Knowing we believe in ourselves is one thing. Bragging about it is another one. It all resides in respect for others and for their own model of reality. Believing in ourselves also means that we can appreciate the fact that others too, believe in themselves and they too can be right about their own perception of reality. We all live in our own model of reality. Let’s be curious about discovering the other’s opinions and understand that we can all grow together. Humility is having a clear perspective, and therefore respect, for one’s place in context.
