For the first time in history, a Canadian just got the pink Jersey and will be wearing it tomorrow on the final day of the Giro d’Italia (Italian Cycling Race for those of you who don’t follow cycling like Duff and I. Think Tour de France but with Pasta and vino). This is huge! Ryder Hesjedal has never won a stage Podium on a Grand Tour. What a feeling.

He said even before the time trial that he had never done goal setting the same way he did for this race. He was really confident because he had visualized it and mentally prepared for it.

Duff and I are emotionally watching it on TV, goose bumps, sharing Hesjedal’s tears on the podium as the Canadian National Anthem is playing at a Grand Tour, and it is not a hockey game!  It is touching for us as the ceremony is in Milan, right in front of the big cathedral where Duff proposed to me 10 years ago. So cool!

What a Sunday!
