You know, that “nice” smell when you're driving through farmland? I know you know what I'm talking about. You're like: "Oh my gosh, what is that?" And then you roll your windows back up because the smell is too awful? You're probably wondering where I'm going with this. Keep reading or watch the following video to find out...

I'm not going to tell you what it smells like. You know what it smells like, right? You know, the smell of manure. It got me thinking the other day, as I was driving through this smell. I thought:  "I wonder how the plants and the trees and the fruit and the vegetables are supposed to survive this. Farmers purposely spread this smelly texture throughout their crops to make them grow."

I pushed my thoughts even further: Our own stuff, the stuff that happens to us, our life experiences, more likely, they're just like manure. Yes, it smells terrible sometimes. And yet, it is designed to make us grow. It is designed to bring us something and make us sink our roots even deeper in the earth and make our life better.

Start seeing your life experiences as if they were that manure that is being used for you to grow, to get better. The next time something happens to you, ask yourself: "Okay, I really don't like the smell of this, but guess what? Life has purposely put that in my path in order for me to grow from this and I will be making beautiful flowers, or juicier fruits, just because this life experience has happened to me." There's always a silver lining or a positive learning, so always ask yourself: "How is that making me grow? How is that making me go farther on my life journey?"

You know that our brain can process experiences. As something happens to you, it goes into the prefrontal cortex, but then once it's over, it moves into the limbic brain. It's the part of your brain that is used in order to make decisions for things that will happen again later. So, when something else happens, it goes back to your learnings, into your limbic brain, to get answers. You have to try to remember the positive learnings, and not the smell.

Instead of remembering being angry or being afraid, or feeling guilty or feeling hurt, remember not the feeling, not the smell. Remember: "How juicy do I want the fruit? How beautiful do I want the flowers? How is this making me grow?"

Have a great week , everyone.
