As a professional Speaker, I always seek to learn more about how I can become the best Speaker I can be. So many learnings from Saturday morning’s Bill Stainton’s Seminar at CAPS – Canadian Association of Professional Speakers. Stainton is a 29-time Emmy Award-winning TV producer, writer, and performer; an author; and a business humorist.

He blends the business smarts he learned from twenty years in corporate management with the show biz sparks he learned from working with people like Jerry Seinfeld, Ellen DeGeneres, and Jay Leno to create entertaining and enlightening presentations enjoyed by audiences around the world!

My biggest golden nugget from his teachings was about the first and last impressions that speakers need to give their audience and how to place the pieces together in between. He brilliantly used the analogy of looking at our speech from a producer’s angle, a writer’s lens and a performer’s point of view.

He taught us how to be larger than life, the art of the pause and 4 Quick Specific techniques to take our presentations to the next level.
