The wearing of costumes at Halloween may come from the belief that supernatural beings, or the souls of the dead, roamed the earth at this time. The practice may have originated in a Celtic festival, held on 31 October–1 November, to mark the beginning of winter. People would put on masks when they left their homes after dark so that the ghosts would think they were fellow spirits.

In today’s age, I am pretty sure that most of us are not wearing costumes in order to scare off some dead people. But what about trying to chase our own self and becoming someone else? Have you ever felt like you were more powerful when putting on a superhero costume? Like you could adopt a different personality than your own? Whatever you become behind a mask is inside you. You can be that awesome powerful character without the costume, in your everyday life. If it is there when the costume is on, it means it has always been there. Be it. Anytime you want. Shine! Enjoy life!

My husband and I love Halloween! Every year, we find costumes and I have to say that this year, my husband totally wins the prize for Best Costume!!! As most of you know, my husband’s name is Duff and we just could not help but to fall for Omer Simpson’s Duff Beer Costume!

Happy Halloween everyone!
