Today, let’s talk social media. Ever since I launched the\u00a0THINK Yourself\u00ae A MARKETING PRO Online Course<\/a>, a lot of people have asked me: \u00ab\u00a0Okay, now I got my social media strategy straight, I think. But what if I don’t want to post every day? What are the best days to post, or what are the best times to post on social media?\u00a0\u00bb I know a lot of you are entrepreneurs, so\u00a0<\/span><\/span>I thought I would create a blog specifically about the best times to post on some of the major social media platforms.<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

Facebook<\/span><\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n

Let’s start with Facebook, or Meta. These are the latest stats. Now, just so you know, it does changes quite often, and it depends on people’s algorithms. It also depends on if a pixel was installed on the websites you visited. If you visited somebody’s website, and the next day, when you’re on Facebook, you see an ad come in about that company, it’s probably because they have installed a pixel on their website that will recognize your IP address and will push you some of their ads on social.<\/p>\n

However, as a general sense, and this excludes stories – we’re talking just for posts,\u00a0the best days to post would be Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.<\/b> If you’re an entrepreneur and don’t necessarily have time to post every day, these are the best days to do it.<\/p>\n

The best times to post on Facebook are from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM<\/b>. Now be careful:\u00a0You should use the time zone of the person you want to reach.<\/b> So where’s your niche, where’s your market? For example, the 9:00 AM time slot would be 6:00 AM for me, in British Columbia, if I want to reach people in Ontario, or in the East Coast of the United States. Depending on who you are trying to reach, you want to adapt these times.<\/p>\n

The worst day to post on Facebook is Saturday.<\/b> Somehow, on Saturdays, people are on Instagram. They’re not on Facebook on Saturdays. Weird, right?<\/p>\n

LinkedIn<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

On LinkedIn, the best days to post are Tuesdays and Wednesdays<\/b>, and\u00a0the best times to post are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Now, it doesn’t mean the other days aren’t good. It just means that those are the two best days.\u00a0Thursday is also a very good day<\/b>, according to recent statistics, so you might want to concentrate your efforts towards these three days of the week.<\/p>\n

The worst day to post on LinkedIn is Sunday.<\/b> I guess people have better things to do than to lurk on LinkedIn on Sundays!<\/p>\n

Instagram<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Instagram has recently changed its algorithm. You know how before, if you wanted people to see your post, you needed to publish it as close as possible to the time where traffic spikes on the platform? Well, that’s no longer the case. It’s an \u00ab\u00a0early bird gets the worm\u00a0\u00bb kind of deal now. The sooner you post, the more you will be seen.<\/p>\n

You can post every day on Instagram and be seen if you’re posting really, really early in the morning.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

On the West coast, between 12:00 AM and 6:00 AM is the best time. On the East Coast, it would be between 4:00 AM and 9:00 AM.<\/b> So you want to post as early as possible. As you probably guessed, the later you post, the worse it is.<\/p>\n

Even though every day is a good day for posting on Instagram,\u00a0the very best days are Saturdays and Sundays.<\/b><\/p>\n

Twitter<\/strong><\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Twitter is very similar to LinkedIn. The best days and times to post on LinkedIn are Tuesdays through Thursdays, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The very best day, however, is Wednesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The worst day to tweet is Saturday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Now here’s something specific about Twitter: If you are an entrepreneur and you’re trying to attract the attention of newsrooms, they are there at 3:00 AM or 4:00 AM.<\/b> Very, very early. If you want to catch their attention, if you feel like you can pitch in about something that’s on the news, \u00a0you should use the 3:00 AM time slot, because that’s when they are searching for news. You can tag them, and they will be available.<\/p>\n

That’s just another piece of my 2 cents.<\/p>\n
